The rise in the use of vaping devices and other substances among youth is a growing concern. Vaping has become one of the most popular forms of substance use among young people, despite it being illegal to sell to anyone under the age of 21 and growing evidence of its health risks and harms.

Parents, it has been brought to my attention that the social media app, TikTok, can be a harmful site for many of our students and young viewers. I strongly advise, if you aren't familiar with this app, to look further into it in order to keep our children safe. If your child has this app, it's encoruaged to monitor their use of it in order to protect them from any danger. I've attached a useful link in order to ensure your child's safety: https://www.connectsafely.org/tiktok/

It's no secret that children do not come with a user manual, and parenting is a learning experience. During this time, levels of stress may be elevated, which can affect children (whether we realize it or not). A child may face challenges in verbalizing their stress levels and negative emotions depending on their developmental stage. I have found some books that may be a great resource to parents in order to help their child(ren) cope with the whirlwind of emotions, including stress, that are being experienced during these unprecedented times. These books are available on Amazon, are Prime eligible, and under $20! See the list below:
