Early Childhood at St. Anne’s School
The Early Childhood Program has as its primary mission the formation of Catholic Christian values in the young child. We see the child as an individual who needs to develop spiritually, socially, intellectually, and physically in a loving environment. We recognize the importance of every student’s relationship with God.
The Early Childhood Curriculum encourages developmentally appropriate activities to promote the growth of the whole child. The curriculum responds to the individual interests and learning styles of every child. The classroom environment is designed to foster active participation so that the child learns through observation, exploration, and verbalization. The Nursery Program provides an introduction to school through a loving and caring environment. The Pre Kindergarten program strives to incorporate Common Core Learning Standards in an inquiry and play-based environment. Students are encouraged to explore different activities that promote social development, build early literacy and math skills, and encourage discovery-based learning of scientific concepts.
The Faculty is comprised of certified teachers and trained assistants. The Pre-Kindergarten program is further enhanced through interaction with certified teachers in special subject areas including Physical Education, Music and Science. The faculty is dedicated to presenting curriculum in a way that allows each child to experience the joys of learning at his/her own pace. The faculty cultivates the innate curiosity, creativity, and motivation that exists in each child and encourages them to become life-long learners. We help each child to grow in self-esteem so that he/she may carry out social and personal responsibilities.
Our Program strives to make an environment where administrators, teachers, parents, and students work together in partnership to provide the best atmosphere for learning in a Christian environment.
