This year, as the librarian, I am excited to teach grades Pre-K through 4. I try to divide my sessions into three parts. First, I read a book to the students with group discussion. Next, I have them up and moving. The students interact with an activity related to the story. Lastly, the students complete a follow-up written or drawing activity to assess comprehension.
With grades 2-4, through creative lessons, I am enjoying helping students understand the value of a library, how to utilize its resources, and introduce them to many genres of books. With PreK-1, I want to build their reading comprehension by adding creative movement and drawing to the reading experience.
Greetings Parents
Thank you to parents for the support and encouragement you give to us, as teachers, to help develop your child's social, emotional, physical, and spiritual growth. When we work together, children benefit and thrive.
