St. Anne's School offers short-term individual and group counseling to students. Parents/guardians, as well as school staff, may refer students for counseling, or students may request counseling themselves.
For counseling that extends beyond 3 sessions in a school year, or that is being planned on a regular basis, parent/guardian permission is to be obtained. If a student is referred to, or requests a visit to Guidance, which exceeds 3 sessions, a formal consent form will be sent to the child's parent/guardian.
Consent may be given at any time during the school year, and parents/guardians may withdraw consent at any time by signing and dating a written note requesting termination of counseling services.
The guidance counselor will keep all information confidential within the legal and ethical guidelines of a professional school counseling relationship. Confidential information must be disclosed if a student expresses significant danger to self or others.
Classroom Lessons: Throughout the school year, students in grades K-8 will be presented with classroom Guidance lessons. Topics vary based on grade levels, so please check the class tabs on the left to see what is currently being taught.
